Today I'm going to be talking about angina treatment using 2 herbal remedies that you should know about. Do you have any idea what the number 1 cause of death in America is? It's heart disease, which is a huge killer. When an area of the heart muscle isn't getting the oxygen it needs, the body is going to let you know about it.
This could be a feeling of pressure or squeezing in the chest area. It could be a burning sensation and the pain could also be felt in the shoulders, arms and even the back or neck area. Angina really isn't a specific ailment, but a symptom of heart disease. What do you think is the most common treatment when it comes to angina? I'll give you a hint they run commercials about these products on TV all the time. Yea prescription drugs are often recommended to be taken.
Do you know what the biggest danger of using prescription drugs is? Yea, they create unwanted and harmful side effects. So in essence you could solve one problem just to create a second problem in another part of the body.
Many people also don't know this but prescription drugs create something called free radicals as they break down in the body. These free radicals can cause other ailments, damage organs; contribute to aging skin and even possibly the scary C word. Do you know what the scary C word is? Yea, it's cancer.
There are many ways someone can treat angina, but herbal remedies are much safer than drugs. One herb that you should know about is something called hawthorn.
In the late 1800's a doctor in Ireland got famous for curing heart disease. Everyone asked him what his secret was and he wouldn't tell. Then he finally died and his secret was revealed. Turns out the only thing he was using was the hawthorn herb.
According the University of Maryland there was a study involving 60 people with heart disease. Half of the group received 180 mg a day of hawthorn, while the other group received a placebo pill for 3 weeks. The result was that the group that took hawthorn had better blood flow to the heart and could exercise longer without experiencing pains in the chest area.
Another herb that should be on your radar for heart disease is policosanol. According to U.S. National Library of Medicine. There was a clinical study involving 45 patients suffering from this condition. 15 patients were treated with 5mg of policosanol twice a day.
Another 15 patients received this herb plus 125 mg of aspirin. The last 15 patients were given a placebo pill. After 20 months both policosanol groups had better oxygen intake, better aerobic capacity and improved cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Also the group that took aspirin with this plant had even better blood flow.
